In the spirit of patriotism, King Soopers, a long standing local tradition, is making a come back on 4th of July. Formed in 1917, when the United States entered World War I, Soopers parades down the street to their local parade grounds in many states. Each year they highlight a different state and organize a day or two out of the states to allow kids to participate. The 4th of July has been an occasion to celebrate America’s arrival into the world war.
For years the parade has been made out of a large log-like structure with a stage set for the parade and all participating vehicles. It is similar to the style of large fairs or even circuses. But with the recent popularity of festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival and the NASCAR Hall of Fame Tour, Soopers is looking to expand their options and offer more exciting days of entertainment for the kids. Many of the future acts that will be headlining the 4th of July festivities have never made it down the parade grounds and these days there are more exciting ways for them to get the exposure that they need.
One of the most exciting aspects of the Sooper Kids Parade is that they are taking the children to various destinations around the country. Every day during the parade the vehicles will visit new cities and towns. The days can vary from days of celebration to days of patriotic fervor. Some of the events that will be occurring are:
One of the most popular destinations along with the Mallory Square in Washington D. C., is the White House. This attraction draws tens of thousands of people on the day of the parade. Many of the children who attend the parade do not know the President is there, but on any day they will see their idol up on stage singing and dancing.
There is also the Labor Day Parade, which attracts many of the same children. It is not only a celebration of the worker, but of all things American. On this Labor Day parade, the children are dressed in their best clothes and there are special programs for children to listen to as they safely make their way through the streets of New York. They can be fun to watch and you are sure to see many of the children dressed up in their best work uniforms.
When you look at a parade, you cannot help but wonder how much time and effort go into staging it and making sure that everyone has a great time. Sooper Kids has put together a program of fun activities that will keep the children occupied while you are enjoying your favorite beverages and meals. There is plenty to do and see, and if you are out of town, the Sooper Kids staff is there to help plan the entertainment. Your kids will love it and so will everyone else that comes to enjoy the parade.
