Fireworks Show at the 4th of July in San Francisco, California
Yosemite National Park is one of the best sites to be in on the Fourth of July. Every year, from May to July, crowds of tourists and locals gather at the park for the fireworks show. The best time to visit the Park is between the two weeks of the month of May. But, if you can’t make it there, don’t worry because you can still enjoy fireworks from many other locations around the country.
Yosemite National Park is actually part of the San Francisco National Park system. The reason why Yosemite is able to host an amazing fireworks show on the Fourth of July is that it is right next to the Ferry Building. When the park first opened, it was a small operation and the Ferry Building was not designed for large gatherings like the fireworks show at the park. However, with the help of the park services, they have now upgraded the building and it is now capable of holding large gatherings of many thousands of people. The only thing that will really be difficult is getting tickets for the fireworks show, which can be very difficult if you do not live anywhere near the Bay Area. Luckily, for those who live in the area, it is very easy to get a few tickets through local businesses or online.
The Ferry Building is also the location of the annual “Wine and Food” festivals. If you are lucky enough to be in San Francisco on the day of the 4th of July, you will want to make sure that you stop by the event. Here you will find great food and souvenirs at very reasonable prices. The fireworks show is not free to watch, but the Ferry Building does offer shuttle service to and from the park. Make sure to take advantage of this awesome deal.
Another great place in San Francisco for fireworks is the Presidio Park Zoo. The zoo has hosted some of the best fireworks shows in the country, as well as hosting some of the most popular music concerts. Located between the Chinatown and Presidio Park, the zoo is located on the north side of the park. It is easily reached by using the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Embarcadero. The main attractions include the Wildflower Preserve, a natural park filled with trees and other beautiful flora and fauna. Another highlight is the Insect Conservatory, where you will find plenty of exotic species of birds, along with over five million insects.
If you would rather have a quiet time outdoors, the San Francisco Ferry is one of the best places to go. Not only are there awesome views of the bay, the ferries even let you board without having to pay any fares! The ferry runs from the Presidio Park in the morning until the evening, so make sure you check out this fun spot during many of the summer months.
In terms of food and drink, San Francisco is an incredible city to visit. Many restaurants line the Embarcadero, and some of the most popular include Zane’s Delicatessen on Presidio Park. There are also a number of waterfront restaurants along the waterfront. Overall, the fireworks show at the 4th of July is something everyone in San Francisco should experience. With so many options and with the night being a holiday, it really doesn’t get much better than this!
