Dierbergs is a charming little village on the shores of Lake Geneva. It is nestled between Mladenoff and Gluckstadt in Switzerland and is home to some beautiful buildings that date back to the 19th century. Some of the earliest buildings are visible from the village itself. They are the remnants of a popular shopping center that was located here, called “Zentrale.” The Center had many branches and was popular with travelers as it offered a central location for sightseeing throughout Switzerland.
Mladenoff is where Dierbergs is located today. The village is small, only housing one hotel and a restaurant. Many people travel from the cities of Geneva and Zurich to enjoy what is Dierbergs open on 4th of July. This is the most popular day to celebrate in Switzerland. Originally this would have been on Friday evening. However, after the Second World War, the United States began celebrating 4th of July along with many other countries.
Dierbergs is not located on the sea, as is Mladenoff. This was a historical fact, since it lies in the very heart of Switzerland. Many historic sights can be found in the area. These include the Gothic castles, which date back to the 800s, and the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Maria Della Misericordia.
If you love water sports then there is plenty to choose from in this quaint town. For those who prefer hiking to water sports, there are some beautiful hiking trails around Dierbergs. For those who enjoy white water rafting and kayaking there are several rivers in the area. You will also find the Lake Geneva, which is the largest body of fresh water in Switzerland. The Gornet River is flowing through the center of the city and runs through several towns.
During July there is an event in Dierbergs called Holidays in the Alps. This festival includes a day’s worth of activities such as skiing, biking, hiking and climbing. This festival is held on the first Sunday of every August. Visitors can participate in many different activities during this exciting festival.
Dierbergs is one of the most historic places in Switzerland. The original purpose of Dierbergs was to be the crossing point between the Alps and the Baltic Seas. Today it is regarded as the gateway to the extraordinary Alps. There is a lot for everyone in this small mountain village. The price of living is quite reasonable compared to the rest of Switzerland.
