Can Police Call Your Cell Phone?
The question of whether or not you can police call your cell phone is a common one for many people. I was wondering the same thing as well. In fact, I’m sure a good percentage of you guys are considering this question. The truth of the matter is, you can police call your cell phone and in most states it’s pretty much accepted as being legal. That means you’re probably not going to have any problems at all in terms of the law if you end up getting a call from the police.
So, what can you do if you get a call from the police? The first thing you should do is dial your cell phone number that is listed on your phone. Of course, you should never dial any other numbers, even if the person is listed on your phone. There may be situations where other numbers were programmed onto your phone but your cell phone number is not one of them. In those cases, you’ll just need to call the cell phone number to see if it’s connected to the call.
The next thing you should do is look at your call history. If you had calls that were deleted or you were on speaker and someone else took the call, you will still be able to make a police call. That’s because those calls are still logged on your phone. You can make a police call any time you want, even if you just remembered something that you were supposed to be taking a call of the night before. Of course, if you miss the call, then you’ll have to wait until the morning to make another one.
Of course, if you get a call from anyone that you aren’t familiar with, it’s always a good idea to take the proper steps to contact the police. Even if they show up after the 24 hour mark, it can be worth it to call whoever the number belongs to and explain who you are. That can give you a good chance to get the person to identify themselves so you can make an arrest. Also, it can help you find out more about the cell phone number that called you in the first place. If it is someone with malicious intent, it can be hard to catch that person.
Finally, if you get a police call and there is nothing that you can do to stop it, the best thing to do is wait. Don’t call that cell phone number again or else it could be recorded onto your caller ID and cause more problems for you. If the caller id displays the caller’s last name and you know the number, you can call the number later. This way, you can ask the caller why they called you and they can tell you who it was. Unfortunately, if you can’t get a name from them, you’ll just have to put up with their number.
There are ways around this problem. If the caller id on your cell phone is blocked, you can still call the number later on in the day when you’re not feeling well and you might want to just vent a little. You can call their home number and tell them you have something important to tell them and give them your number. Or, you can simply hang up and never call that number again. If you think about it, if a person really wanted to track you down, they would have done so by now, wouldn’t they?
