Qualifying activity includes making a purchase on a Marriott credit card, earning points by staying at a hotel, earning points through a Marriott Bonvoy partner, redeeming points or purchasing points.
2021 Status Upgrade for Half the Nights or Status Points
Since 2020, loyalty members of two reward programs, Half the Nights and Status points have been anticipating an upgrade in their status. The programs are intended to go through a major upgrade in the year 2021 making them more attractive and beneficial to its members.
Upcoming changes in Half the Nights
Members belonging to the Half the Nights have the chance to gain access to exclusive benefits such as discounts on room rates and exclusive amenities:
- Room upgrades – Members of Half the Nights are eligible for complimentary room upgrades when available.
- Early check-in/ late check-out – Half the Nights members gain priority check-in and late check-out times.
- Free breakfast/dinner credit – Members get complimentary breakfast/dinner credits.
- Discounts on room rates – Members receive discounted room rates when they stay at any of the participating hotels.
Changes in Status points
In addition to offering complimentary room upgrades, early check-in, and late check-out; members of Status Points will get the following added benefits:
- Complimentary lounge access – Status Points members will have access to lounges located at participating hotels.
- Waived cancellation fees – Members will not be required to pay cancellation fees or other associated fees.
- Bonuses on travel purchases – Members will receive additional bonuses when they make travel purchases using their account.
